August 21st Solar Eclipse

by Fish posted Aug 11 2017 4:32PM
The Solar Eclipse Is Observed In Asia
One of the coolest events that happens in our lifetime is the chance to view a total Solar Eclipse. I have yet to experience one, but plan on making it a goal in life. On August 21st, just ten days from now, a total solar eclipse will happen in the US. Us here in Northern Michigan will only get about 75% blockage of the sun (fingers crossed for a clear day) but it will still be an amazing sight to see.

Check out this simulation from TIME as to how it will look from your viewing location, just type in your zip code!

This is what Traverse City will see when the maximum extent of the Eclipse hits at 2:19pm on August 21st

The one I'm shooting for is the Total Solar Eclipse of April 2024. That path will cross much of Ohio, and I hope to make a trip to see this amazing event.
