Here's what is trending for Tuesday 2/5/13

Good morning! Here's what's trending today...

Fun and Andrew Dost have been trending like crazy the past few weeks around Northern Michigan. If you don't know Andrew is from Frankfort and Frankfort is celebrating his group's 6 Grammy Nominations! They're have a red carpet event at the Garden Theater in Frankfort on Sunday from 7 until 11p. It's a 21 and up Grammy party, $20 and it's to raise funds for the FEAS music program. Food, cash bar and auction of "Fun." memorabilia. It's a classy night, so wear your cocktail attire! More here...

7 and 4 news is reporting that we might see some new microbreweries downtown Traverse City! Very fitting for the week leading up to the Microbrew fest! Read the story here!

Hey! Big props to the famous Petoskey Steel Drum Band! They're heading to New Orleans for Mardi Gras! This is the 7th time they've made the trip, very cool! Have fun! Read more from 9 and 10 news here...

Detroit is trending! Well, CQ Press just updated their list of America's Most and Least Dangerous Cities for 2013 and sadly it ranked #1 most dangerous. Flint also ranked again in the top 5. This is based on FBI crime rates. I get it, no surprise but these cities have such character. Hopefully one day we'll be able to say they are close to the most safest.

A couple news headlines that are trending: That boy that was held captive in the bunker is now free! He was rescued yesterday, the suspect did not make it. King Richard III's remains were found under a parking lot in Leicester, he is going to be reburied. He was killed in battle in 1585, the last king to die in battle (Google his name, very intersting story.)

Yesterday we were talking about favorite TV shows and the shows that would cause you to flip out if they got cancelled. Well, I hope you're not a fan of Ricki Lake's new show or Jeff Probst's show because they, will more than likely, not be renewed next season.

Betty White's 2nd Annual 90th Birthday Special is on tonight! That makes her 91 (for anyone with out calculator). Bill Cosby, Whoopi Goldberg, Lily Tomlin, Sean Hayes, Bill Clinton, Vicki Lawrence, Valerie Bertinelli and Larry King along with Blake Shelton will all be celebrating too. It's on at 8pm on NBC 7 and 4.

Had no clue that Fall Out Boy had a fall out (HA!) a few years back but the good news is they are getting back together! The band announced they're kicking a tour off in May, they will be at the Fillmore in Detroit on May 22.

Valentine's Day is coming up. I'm actually happy I don't have to celebrate this year! But I remember this being an issue. What happens when you start a new relationship and Valentines Day pops up in the first few weeks? Do you celebrate? Open Table did a survey that revealed 79% of people say if you started dating in 2013 don't celebrate Valentine's Day. We say, do what you want but if you don't want to, you now have a valid excuse!

Have the best day of your life! (Thus far!)
