Breast fed 5
I am 36 & have breast fed 5 children . I support breast feeding TOTALLY, however I don't think what the mayor is doing is right.... I deffinately do NOT agree. There is a place for government but wether or not a mother breast feeds or not is NONE of the governments business

Mother of 3
I have breast fed 3 kids 2 for a yr and a half and one 9 months full time then mixed formula in with my milk for the other, only due to her being 3 months premature and hvkg severe reflux she needed a special predigesting formula mixed with my milk to remain healthy. I don't agree with te government stepping in with that at all however I do feel before formula is offered a mother should Atleast make an attempt to breastfeed and then if she decided to not breastfeed well then Thts her choice but Atleast the baby has gotten some of the colostrum and the mother has made an effort to give her child the best

GOVT Control
I think everyone is a little skeptical lately with government intrusion in our lives. It's odd then how our culture embraces the mentality that "government knows best" in regard to what/how we feed our children! By design, we are equipped to breast feed our children. It's natural. Hospitals should reinforce that as a primary means and use formula as a supplement. Many new moms find it difficult to do....to have some extra support in the process is a good thing.

ridiculous
I don't think its any of his business or anyone else's how a mother chooses to feed her child. Putting pressure on women to choose breastfeeding is bad enough and often backfires. I for one have felt the way some people act when they ask ifyou formula feed. Like if you say yes its a shame. I have breastfed two beautiful girls and that is MY choice but if you choose to formula feed and your baby is healthy then all the power to you!
