By the time you read this, the opening ceremonies for the 2018 Winter Olympics will be over. However NBC will be replaying the festivities at 8pm tonight, and I'll be watching. I'm a big fan of the Olympics, both Winter and Summer. Every 4 years they remind us of sports that we've completely forgotten about since the last Olympics. Curling is a great example. 99% of my life, I never think of curling for any reason. But every 4 years when the Olympics roll around, I'm watching them hurl those big stones like my life depends on it! Who watching figure skating on a regular basis? I'm sure there's a few people out there that do, but for the most part the only time we get to see those athletes is during the Winter games. My personal favorite is hockey. There is something so cool to me, seeing the best players from around the world representing their Country on the ice. Unlike basketball in the Summer Olympics where a vast majority of the NBA players are on team USA, the NHL guys are spread out among many Countries for the Winter Olympic hockey games. Plus, it gives us all a good excuse to chant "USA! USA! USA!" at the top of our lungs in public places for the next couple weeks!
