During its Tuesday session, the Michigan House of Representatives plans to honor first responders across the state for their service. The Michigan Senate has designated Sept. 11-17 Michigan Patriot Week.
This story is amazing: A man named Randy Scott was trapped inside the World Trade Center on 9/11, and before he died, he wrote a note to get help and threw it out an open window. It said, quote, "84th floor. West office. 12 people trapped." Someone on the ground found it THAT day, right before the building collapsed. Then it was passed around for 10 years until DNA was used to match a spot of blood on the note to Randy. And last year, the note was finally given to his wife, Denise. She's agreed to put the note in a museum at the 9/11 memorial.
Back on September 11th, 2001, there was no Twitter, no Facebook, and no YouTube. We got our news online, but from major news sites . . . sites that looked a lot different back then than they do today. We checked out some archived images of how some of these looked, here's how Yahoo looked that day. And the Internet has come a long way in 11 years.
Not so important Hollywood Buzz Tids:
KANYE WEST reportedly used to watch the KIM KARDASHIAN sex tape while he was nailing other chicks. This was before he was able to snag the REAL DEAL, of course. File that under creepy and ew.
RYAN REYNOLDS and BLAKE LIVELY got married at Boone Hall Plantation in South Carolina. The place was also used as the summer home where RACHEL MCADAMS and RYAN GOSLING'S characters met in "The Notebook".
On his talk show yesterday, ANDERSON COOPER revealed why he came out of the closet. He said, quote, "I didn't want to send a message that there was anything I was ashamed about or unhappy about or not comfortable with. That was the main thing for me." He added, quote, "I am the same person I always was, I do the job just the same way."
This is just scary: PRINCE HARRY was recently deployed back to Afghanistan. And he's not there to take some cushy desk job. He's in a forward area, and he may very well see ACTION. The Taliban knows this . . . and they're going to take advantage of it. A spokesman for the Taliban . . . yes, there is such a thing . . . says, quote, "We are using all our strength to get rid of him, either by killing or kidnapping. We have informed our commanders to do whatever they can to eliminate him."
