CHRIS BROWN had a probation hearing yesterday, and RIHANNA Tweeted her support, saying, quote, "Praying for you baby, my best wishes are with you today!" RadarOnline.com reports that MATT LAUER will be asked to take a pay cut if the "Today" show's ratings don't improve. He reportedly makes $25 million a year. But "Today" is getting consistently OWNED in the ratings by ABC's "Good Morning America". A "source" says, quote, "Matt is under contract so it will have to be a voluntary decision . . . but if he doesn't agree to lose some of his salary then people's jobs will have to be cut. Bottom line is, money will have to be saved somewhere." Of course, ANN CURRY has already been a victim of the "Today" show's declining ratings. Supposedly, she was dropped because the audience wasn't connecting with her . . . and neither was Matt. JAY LENO recently agreed to cut his $30 million salary IN HALF to save the jobs of some of his staff members. "The Tonight Show" and the "Today" show both air on NBC.
"Sesame Street" is "phasing out" its 13-year-old "Elmo's World" segment, and is replacing it with a new feature called "Elmo the Musical", which will be geared toward slightly older kids. The new segment will "use singing and dancing to draw attention to the need for problem-solving skills."
