It sits right with me!!! That is a normal reaction to those that do not have children or haven't experianced the heartache of what such a small defect can cause to a child. There is no difference between that and getting braces. My daughter experianced that and quit wearing her hair up and covered her ears all the time, started to become shy, etc. She had her ears fixed and has worn her hair up since and couldn't be happier. Research the affects it has on a child. It is easier said then done to pound it in their head that they are beautiful the way they are because they do not beleive it especially when they get teased starting at the age of 6. They will just lose self confidence that is very hard to regain.
