Traverse City/ Northern Michigan Buzz

Some pretty heavy stuff went down in TC 2 nights ago. 7 and 4 has more here...

Right to Work now Law in Michigan, 9 and 10 news has more here...

Hollywood Buzz

AskMen.com has released its list of the 99 Most Desirable Women in the World.  "Hunger Games" minx JENNIFER LAWRENCE tops it . . . while KIM KARDASHIAN dropped 90 places . . . from #8 last year to #98 this year.

CHARLIE SHEEN wrote a $75,000 check to help out a 10-year-old girl who's fighting cancer.  And his stunt double Eddie Braun chipped in another $25,000.  The girl is the daughter of a Hermosa Beach Police officer.  Charlie didn't know either of them.  He just heard their story from another cop and opened his wallet.

You know those stories about how delightfully wacky CHRISTOPHER WALKEN is?  Well, this is one of them: In the movie "Stand Up Guys" . . . Walken plays a guy who doesn't own a cell phone.  Instead, he carries a roll of quarters in a FILM CANISTER so he can use pay phones. And director Fisher Stevens says he got the idea from Walken himself . . . who actually does that.

Sources say that the nurse who killed herself after falling for a prank by Australian DJs to reach KATE MIDDLETON'S hospital room left a suicide note. There's no word what nurse Jacintha Saldanha wrote, but the note was reportedly addressed to her husband and two teenage children. Meanwhile, the Australian radio station that aired the prank call plans to give Jacintha's family $500,000.

When LARRY HAGMAN died over Thanksgiving weekend, we heard TNT was "scrambling" to come up with a way to address J.R. Ewing's sudden disappearance from the new "Dallas" show.  Well, now they're shedding a little light on their plans. A TNT spokeswoman says J.R. WILL be killed off . . . and there will be a funeral for him . . . but they won't say how he'll die. By the way, there's talk that TNT wants to get a bunch of the ORIGINAL "Dallas" stars to return for a cameo at J.R.'s funeral.  That's actually a cool idea . . . but for now, there's nothing official on that.

12.12.12: The Concert for Sandy Relief" . . . 7:30 P.M. to Midnight on AMC, HBO, Showtime2, and Fuse.  A concert held to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy.  The performers include Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Kanye West, Jon Bon Jovi, Alicia Keys, Paul McCartney, The Who, Roger Waters, Eddie Vedder and Dave Grohl.

Random Stuff

On Saturday evening, cops spotted a 23-year-old in Indiana doing 100 miles-an-hour, and he wasn't even on a highway.  He wouldn't pull over, but he eventually stopped in a church parking lot.  Turns out his WEDDING was at the church, and he was speeding to get there on time.  He was arrested on several charges and taken to jail instead of his wedding.

There are three 21-year-old triplets in Michigan and right now, ALL THREE are locked up on felony charges.  One is already serving a 30-year sentence for home invasion and assault.  And his two brothers were just convicted of robbery and conspiracy . . . and are each looking at up to 15 years in prison.
