This is an interesting one. There is a bill that is about to be introduced to state legislation that would allow cities to give businesses the right to allow dogs at restaurants with outdoor seating. As of right now only service dogs are allowed. What do you think, good idea or no?

This week is National Small Business week. We're pretty lucky in Northern Michigan, not hard at all to find a great local business to support!

"Jack The Giant Slayer" hits video today. Speaking of, just saw "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" this past weekend, awesome movie if you get a chance to rent it.

Lil Wayne filmed a new video for his song, "God Bless Amerika," and things got a bit controversial when he started dancing on the flag.

Someone dug of a video of Leonardo DiCaprio from when he was 15 years old on a game show called "Fun House."

"Man of Steel" took the #1 spot this weekend at the box office. "This is the End" came in second followed by "Now You See Me."

Kristie Alley's new show on TV Land is turning into a big "Cheers" reunion. Rhea Perlman is co-starring and George Wendt will be making and appearance.

On Saturday, around 7:20 A.M., a guy was driving his BMW in San Diego and saw a SQUIRREL in the road. Instead of plowing over the squirrel like you'd EXPECT at BMW driver to do, he SWERVED to save its life. Unfortunately, he swerved RIGHT into a BAY and his car started SINKING. He got out okay, but the car is probably ruined.

Earlier this month, a group of cops in England were driving in a patrol car when one of them couldn't stop BREAKING WIND. It smelled so AWFUL, the other cops rolled down the windows and stuck their heads out for fresh air and that's when they all smelled REEFER. So they followed the smell, found an illegal marijuana grow house, and arrested seven people.

On Friday, a long investigation revealed that a 94-year-old man who's been living in Minnesota for decades is actually a former NAZI COMMANDER, who killed hundreds of innocent women and children. The U.S. doesn't prosecute World War Two criminals, but he could be extradited to Poland or Germany. Unfortunately that takes a long time and he'll probably die before it happens.

Work is on now for the State Theatre's sister screen, Bijou on the Bay. The theater will have 184 seats and be in the old Con Foster Museum in Clinch park. As far as money goes, the Film Festival is looking for $750,000 for the renovation and half of that has been raised. More here...

Speaking of the State Theatre, "The Dark Knight Rises" is showing tonight at 11pm for The State's Friday Night Flicks, $3 admission!

The 6th Annual Cherry Roubaix is on this weekend! 3 days of cycling around Traverse City. Check out the full schedule of events here!

Billy Ray Cyrus' wife, Tish, has filed for divorce. They almost split in 2010 after rumors of Tish getting with Bret Michaels. She wants spousal support and full custody of their 13 year old daughter Noah.

"Man of Steel," the new Superman movie is out this weekend.

Also, Seth Rogan's "This is the End" starring Seth, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel and Craig Robinson.

Kirstie Ally's new show on TV Land "Kirstie" will reunite former "Seinfeld" stars Michael Richards and Jason Alexander.

Not sure that you want to get in on this one but "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" will come complete with "watch 'n sniff" next month. You can get your card in July issues of "People" and "Us" magazines.

I never got the whole "leaving your doors unlocked" thing and I'm reminded why with this. Traverse City Mayor Estes had his car busted into Monday, well the doors weren't locked so it was more of a casual opening of the door. Ended up losing $400, ouch! Read the full story from 7 and 4 news here.

Grand Traverse 911 now has Smart 911 and their encouraging you to sign up for it. From 9 and 10 News, "Smart 9-1-1 will display much more information about callers, from pictures of people in a household, to a list of medications a caller might be taking." I really dislike putting the Hollywood relationship rumor stuff on this blog but for some reason I can't avoid this one. How about Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus as a couple? They were spotted hanging out in LA last weekend. In an interview Miley said it's nothing and reminded everyone that she's engaged. It's true, high school never ends.

Wow Rob Lowe is going to make a great JFK. Rob takes on the role in the movie "Killing Kennedy," based on the Bill O'Reilly book of the same name. It comes out in November.

So true! A survey says that the average man has 5 hairstyles in his life and picks a permanent style by 32. Have to agree with this one, once my hair started to thin I took on the buzzed look, and wear it well thank you. By the way, women try 7 hairstyles, I thought more for some reason.

A new trend in Japan is causing a pink eye outbreak. Teens have started licking each others eye balls instead of kissing. Is that cool after the first date?

The world's oldest man has passed away. His name is Jiroemon Kimura and he made it to 116. He passed away of natural causes yesterday in his hometown of Kyotango in Japan. He was born on April 19, 1897. The new oldest person is now 115 year old Misao Okawa from Japan.

You wake up, sip your coffee while looking out the window into your backyard and you see it, a bear! It happened in Cadillac yesterday, a black bear wandered into a family's yard around 6:30am. Check out the full story from 7 and 4 News here.

The first two games of the NBA Finals took the top two spots in ratings last week. Game 7 took position 3 and "The Voice" rounds out the top 5.

The title of "The Tonight Show" is going to be tweaked for Jimmy Fallon when he takes over. Right now it's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," it will become "The Tonight Show STARRING Jimmy Fallon." This is a bit of a tribute to Johnny Carson who had "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson." Also, The Roots will move with Fallon!

Mumford and Sons blew all of us "mainstreamers" away during the Grammy's with their hit "I Will Wait" and, recently, they've had to postpone some shows because bassist Ted Dwane is in the hospital for a blood clot in his brain.

Over the weekend, a guy in Pennsylvania took a 40-year-old date to a wedding. And she saw it as an opportunity to STEAL from the bride and groom. During the reception, she took a bunch of cards from the gift table to the bathroom, and shoved the cash and checks into her BRA. Other guests caught her trying to flush the cards, and she was arrested.

We've been talking and joking around a bit about the NSA spying the last few days and check out this story about the whistle blower's girlfriend: The 29-year-old who blew the whistle on the NSA spying knew he had to leave everything in his life behind. That included his 28-year-old girlfriend, who's a PROFESSIONAL POLE DANCER. She says she didn't even get to say goodbye to him before he went to Hong Kong to expose the NSA and now they may never see each other again.

Country star Craig Morgan had another hero moment after coming across an accident on Interstate 40. He and 2 crew members jumped off his tour bus and ran to the scene. He performed CPR and helped extinguish a fire. Back in 2011 he rescued two boys from a house fire.

Big shout out to everyone who took part in the Grand Traverse Relay for Life this weekend. With close to 400 participants the GT Relay met it's $95,000 goal!

Justin Bieber got a reality check this weekend, he can't get EVERYTHING he wants. He tried to sneak into a Hollywood club through the back door Saturday night and got booted after, rapper, Game gave him a shout out on stage. He was booted because he was underage.

I wanted to see this when I first saw the trailer on YouTube and now even more because it was number 1 at the Box Office, "The Purge!" And check this out, it only cost $3 Million to make and it made $36.4 million. Great payday! "The Internship" didn't do so well coming in behind "Fast and Furious 6" and "Now You See Me." Still looks funny though.

Some woman ran on stage and threw eggs at Simon Cowell during the live finale of "Britain's Got Talent." See it at 1:50...

A truck hauling fireworks hit a moose, shut down a road for 5 hours but created a cool fireworks display. Everyone was okay, no word on the moose.

Dr. Conrad Murray, who currently is in jail for killing Michael Jackson, sent Paris a message from prison. He said, "I wanted you to know I'm here for you. I've never been gone. I always will be available to listen to you, answer your questions, or to share with you the plethora of beautiful and savored untold stories of your father, as well as his venerable thoughts of you that he shared with me." No word on family reaction.

If you've heard a bunch of good things about "House Of Cards" on Netflix, the good news is it's coming to DVD on the 11th!

Michael Jackson's 15 year old daughter Paris was rushed to the hospital yesterday after she took about 20 Motrin and cut one of her wrists, she also left a note. The family did release a statement saying that she is "physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention."

HA! Joe Francis is the guy that makes his money from the "Girls Gone Wild" video franchise and now he's freaking out because someone got a hold of a sex tape he and his girlfriend made, the person with the tape is threatening to sell it. Irony?

Keep this in mind if you ever have a private conversation with Samuel L Jackson. He says he's a stutterer and the word "mother(effer)" is one of the tricks he uses to keep it in check, he even says he it helps if he's just saying it to himself. "I don't stutter when I say that word" he said. Neither do I (Says Josh).

I'll be the first to admit that my weight fluctuates like crazy and that I've come to learn fad diets are just that. The real way to lose weight is to get disciplined, eat healthy and work out, or you could put yourself through pain. There's a new diet that will help you lose 30 pounds but it hurts. You have a patch sewn on your tongue, leave it for a month and it makes it hard to talk or eat solids. Boom, 30 pounds down. No thanks!

OUCH! This girl tried to jump off a roof into a pool and missed the pool. She ended up breaking her feet. Here's the kicker, her mom tried to get a "GoFundMe" page to help pay for the medical bills but people who logged in to "GoFundMe" were not having it, so now the page is down.

Tuesday Morning Afternoon Trend Update

Earlier we blogged about that Taco Bell worker who posted a pic of himself licking a stack of taco shells, Taco Bell just released a statement that he was been fired. In short, Taco Bell says that the Tacos were never served to the public and were being thrown out.


"The taco shells were sent to restaurants for training purposes before the new product launch, so team members could use them to practice making the new product before it became available to the public. These shells were a part of that training, were never intended to be served to customers, and were discarded. This is standard operating procedure, and our franchisee confirmed this protocol."

Stories like this one are always fun. Turns out Al Pacino turned down some pretty huge roles. Imagine Al as Han Solo, crazy right? He also turned down the lead in "Die Hard," the lead that Bruce Willis got. He could have had either the Marlon Brando or the Martin Sheen part in "Apocalypse Now" and Richard Gere's part in "Pretty Woman."

The Writers Guild of America put together a list of the 101 Best Written TV Shows. "The Sopranos" came out #1, "Seinfeld," "The Twilight Zone," "All In The Family," and "Mash" all in the top 5. Get the full list here!

Ewww! Did you see that photo yesterday of, what looks to be, a Taco Bell employee licking a stack of tacos? It was originally posted on Taco Bell's Facebook page. Taco Bell did respond saying they believe it was a prank and no customers were served any of that food. ABC is reporting the employee has been fired.

If you're going to see a movie "Fast and Furious 6" is the way to go this week as it grabbed the #1 spot at the weekend box office. "Now You See Me" grabbed 2nd and Will Smith's "After Earth" was 3rd.

Tim Samaras from "Storm Chasers" died Friday in El Reno, Oklahoma while chasing as tornado.

Other sad news, Jean Stapleton who played Edith Bunker in "All in The Family" passed away. She was 90.
