If you’ve been on the internet in the past 3 months, you’ve probably heard of the game Fortnite. I’ve blogged about this before, but basically its Battle Royale mode is a cartoonized fight-to-the-death game that involves building structures to protect yourself. You drop into a world with 100 other players and have to forage for weapons, materials, and protective shields. Best part? Its a free-to-play game.
Last night, one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, Ninja, teamed up with one of musics mega stars… Drake.
People went WILD. Ninja reached nearly 650,000 concurrent viewers, and even was later joined by rapper Travis Scott, and NFL star Juju Schuster-Smith. Where the four of them “squaded-up” as its called, and played in the team mode known as squads.
To say this game is popular right now is an understatement. This game is a cultural phenomenon.
